Suzy = New Reality Show Star???

So whatcha think?? Think I have what it takes?? :) Let me back up and start from the beginning...

July 2nd I read a post on one of my photography forums about this new reality show that they are filming about hey guess what?!? PHOTOGRAPHERS!! :) You can read a little more about it HERE. Anyhow, so I read the post and decide, for kicks and giggles, might as well apply!!! That was at about 2 pm. So I e-mailed the needed information to the casting director and to my surprise...get an e-mail about 2 hours later, inviting me to audition on July 3rd...in LA...that's Los Angeles...as in California...as in the West Coast...as in the OPPOSITE of where I'm at...I sigh and say "Hey, I'm flattered that they wanted me to audition. I'm happy with that." Because of course, there's no freaking way that I could get to LA in less than 24 hours, right??

WRONG...I start telling this story to my best friend Mike Fulton of TriCoast Photography and good friend, Tim of What Is Tim Co and they've decided that I'm going...whether I like it or not...:) Fast forward, MIDNIGHT (technically July3rd) I have a ticket booked to LA. Leaving Tampa at 7AM, arriving in LA at 10AM. Audition at 3pm. Departing CA 9pm and arriving BACK IN TAMPA 6:30AM, July 4th. Yes folks you read that correctly... I was only in Cali for about 11 hours!!! (Sidenote: Anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE ME SOME DEL TACO!!!! Sadly, Floridians are not blessed with Del Taco...So ya'll DAMN WELL know that I COULD NOT go to the west coast w/o scarfing down some yum-yum, delicious big, fat chicken tacos!! I would have taken some pics, but I was ravenous and really was only interested in consuming the yumminess that is Del Taco)

Anyhow...I arrive in Ontario, CA which is about an hour east of LA (think San Bernadino and Rancho Cucamonga) I call my favorite cousin Kim and tell her that I'm in town and the reason for my impromptu visit. I find out that her apt is literally 10 mins away from my audition!!! Now mind you, in my e-mail response I was told to "come looking good and to bring examples of my work" so I had NO IDEA what to expect...I tried working on the first part of that statement...and the 2nd well....my cousin Kims' AWESOME graphic design hubby, Jawsh rocked it and printed out 6 of my fave images on his Epson and armed me with a protfolio!!Going into the audition, I was slightly nervous (and by slightly I mean, I think I had Dumbo and all of his friends doing the elephant electric slide in my tummy!!)Never fear though!! I did pretty well and I think my chances are pretty good of getting chosen!!!

Yep, I arrived in the beautiful country of Jamaica this afternoon with good friends, Timmy of www.whatistimco.com, awesome videographer - Joshua Smith of www.cinematicbride.com,and equally awesome photographer - Kacy Jo of www.kacyjo.com.

We've endured REAL jamaican driving, $2500 grocery bills and MUGGY heat!!! BUT so much FUN!!! :)I will upload some video when I get a chance (oh and when I figure it out????) Yes, I'll admit...I'm slightly slow (ok so REALLY slow) and it might take awhile....so check back for some awesome pictures later!! :)

To start off...

Oh yes...after being pestered by my favorite friends to "get a blog up" ("would you PLEASE get a blog up?? "GET A BLOG UP DAMN IT") Ok ok...I surrender!! I came up with my photography blog...www.suzyminphoto.blogspot.com. Would you all be happy with that??? NOOOO....so of course I have to oblige all my "adoring" fans (chuckle, chuckle, snort snort and by "adoring" I mean "non-existant")

Here's the personal bloggity blog of one Suzy Roberts (or Min as my business name is...or if I've confused you thoroughly, you can just call me "Suzy...THE Suzy" BWHAHAHHHHHAHA!!!!)

Now, I have to say, the web address of this blog is "Sexy Stirfry" (thanks for that Fulton...), but I was THOROUGHLY disappointed that my favorite nickname of "The Asian Sensation" was already taken by some FLOOZY in UTAH...and i say floozy with the utmost love and adoration in my heart...Yeah, yeah, yeah...I'm just jealous...I know...odds are this gal from UT and I would get along fabulously because under her title of The Asian Sensation (maybe we should battle for that title????) She asks..."Do you have yellow fever?" Which I found just hilarious...so yes...Asian Sensation from UT, you and I would get along fabulously...but for now...i'm going to sit and pout like a 5 year old because I didn't get my way :)

Now, moving right along...this "personal" blog of mine...I've decided to use it as a sort of....how do you say...record of my hilarity??? Or randomness...whichever you choose :)

For those that don't know me, maybe I should introduce myself...
Born in Korea, moved to Vegas when I was 2, lived there until I was 23, when one day I decided that I would uproot myself from everything I knew and loved, and move to the other side of the country (might as well have been the other side of the world as far as my parents were concerned) My life up to that point had been easy and good...I guess I wanted to try my hand at hard and lonely??? Who knows...So here I am...Life is still not right at easy and good, but it's getting there!!
Now, onto more about ME!! I love the color orange, dark chocolate (well ANY chocolate if you're going to get right down to it...come to think of it...pretty much anything sweet??? wow the realizations you come to when blogging!!) :) cow print and pretty much anything to do with photography...I talk alot (or in this case type???) and I'm one of "those" people that talk with their hands...So typing without any hand gestures for me is a HARD THING TO DO!!!! :)
Lets see...lets see...(taps fingers impatiently while trying to think of something interesting to type)
